MUSIC REVIEW

Tittle : Over The Rainbow
Length : 00:03:39
Album : Over The Rainbow
Original Artist : Judy Garland
Year : 1939
Music By : Harold Arlen
Lyrics By : E.Y. Harburg
Introduced by Judy Garland in the film The Wizard of Oz, 1939. This song also became The Wizard of Oz (soundtrack album) on 1956 and The Wizard of Oz (soundtrack album) on 1962. It also released on CDs:
The Wizard of Oz (CBS/Sony soundtrack), 1989The Hollywood Years, 1994The Wizard of Oz (Rhino deluxe soundtrack), 1995The Wizard of Oz (Rhino soundtrack), 1995That's Entertainment! (MGM soundtrack anthology), 1995
(and many, many more)
It Won Best Song Academy Award for 1939. Film excerpt of Judy's rendition on "Command performance" included on laser disc set Judy Garland: The Golden Years at M-G-M, 1994 recorded by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra Recorded by Bob Crosby and His Orchestra Recorded and performed many, many times by Judy Garland (her signature song)
This song showed how Judy (as dorothy on The Wizard of Oz) helplessly awaiting death as the witch's hourglass ran out while she was locked in a room in the witch's castle, Dorothy weeps her way through it, unable to finish, concluding with a tear-filled, "I'm frightened, Auntie Em – I'm frightened!" This phrase was retained in the film and is followed immediately by Aunt Em's brief appearance in the witch's crystal, where she is soon replaced by the visage of the witch, mocking and taunting Dorothy before turning toward the camera to cackle.
The song was really made me motivated to reach my dreams higher and higher. Don’t be afraid just because If happy little bluebirds fly Beyond the rainbow..then Why, oh why can't I? There’s still stand a lot of possibilities.

want to hear the song?
